2019 - Extension to Snipe

August 2021 - Clearing vegetation

Access to a number of the platforms/hides was cleared of overgrown vegetation. Equipment needed was provided by FOGL - especially useful being John Marsh's battery powered strimmer.

The work took two Tuesday mornings.

2019 - Extended Snipe viewing platform

This popular platform was in need of extra viewing space and after some discussion work started.

Material, machinery and expertise was provided by NRW, while extra manpower and expertise was provided by FOGL

Work started in the middle of August, and was completed in about 2 weeks.

2017 - Built viewing platform

John Marsh approached Tom Dalrymple (NRW) about a hide/VP overlooking a section of Prior's lagoon previously inaccessable. After a number of on site meetings, it was decided to construct a VP (now called John Marsh VP) overlooking Prior's lagoon.

Material, machinery and expertise was provided by NRW, while extra manpower and expertise was provided by FOGL

Work started at the end of August, and was completed in about 4/5 weeks meeting one/twice a week.

This has proved a very popular facility.

A major clearing of rubbish around a section of the Sea Wall took place in 2015 involving NRW and FOGL personnel.

2014 - Built viewing platform

After much moaning about the positions of the hides/viewing platforms, Mike Pointon approached Tom Dalrymple (NRW) about a favourable positioned hide/VP. After a number of on site meetings, it was decided to construct a VP (now called Snipe VP) overlooking Prior's lagoon.

Material, machinery and expertise was provided by NRW, while extra manpower and expertise was provided by FOGL

Work started at the end of August, and was completed in about 4/5 weeks meeting one/twice a week.

This has proved a very popular facility.
