The Goldcliff lagoons area is part of the Newport Wetlands Reserve which is maintained mainly by Natural Resources Wales (NRW).

The Friends of Goldcliff Lagoons (FoGL) is a group of enthusiastic birders keen to help to improve and maintain facilities at this section of the Reserve.

Recent Sightings

20/04/2019  Whimbrels, Black Tailed Godwits, Dunlins Curlew Sandpipers, Sanderlings and Grasshopper Warblers

This week there has been sightings of the Spoonbill on Becs (Lagoon 2). Lots of spring migrants now on the reserve, including both species of Whitethroats, Grasshopper Warblers, Cettis, Chiff Chaff, Reed and Willow Warblers. No recent reports of the Glossy Ibis.
